Asbestos Removal
BrizPlant holds a WHSQ Class A asbestos removal licence, the highest class issued in Queensland. It covers friable and non-friable asbestos in any quantity, from a single fibro shed to a multi-storey roof under full containment.
Every removal runs on the same system: a site-specific control plan, WHSQ notification where required, controlled removal with decontamination, and independent clearance before the area is released.
Two scopes, one licence
Bonded or Friable
Which one you have decides the licence, the controls and the cost. A Class A licence covers both, so the job does not change hands when the material does.
Bonded Asbestos Removal
Sheeting, cladding, eaves and flooring held in a cement matrix. Removed whole under site-specific controls.

Friable Asbestos Removal
Lagging, fire damage and anything that crumbles under hand pressure. Enclosure, negative pressure and independent monitoring.

Controls That Run the Whole Job
The method changes with the material, friable work runs under containment with negative air; bonded sheet comes off intact and wrapped. The system around it never changes.
Containment & Enclosures
Physical containment, negative-pressure enclosures and sealed exclusion zones sized to the material condition, from a taped-off roof zone to a full building envelope.Controlled Removal Methods
Wet methods, hand tools and intact-sheet handling under the How to Safely Remove Asbestos Code of Practice, no power tools, no abrasive cutting, no high-pressure water.Decontamination On Site
Personnel and equipment decontamination units run for the duration of the removal, with waste-out procedures that keep contamination inside the work zone.Sealed Waste Stream
Material is wrapped or double-bagged inside the zone, sealed, labelled and loaded direct to lined transport, never stockpiled loose on site.Friable and Bonded, Across Every Structure
If it contains asbestos, the licence covers it. These are the scopes we price most weeks.
Roofs & exterior sheeting
Corrugated roofs, wall cladding, eaves and gables, stripped intact where condition allows, under containment where it does not.Internal linings & ceilings
Wall sheeting, ceiling panels, vinyl backing and wet-area linings removed during refurbishments and strip-outs.Friable insulation & lagging
Pipe lagging, sprayed coatings and degraded material that can be crumbled by hand, Class A work under full containment.Fire & storm damaged ACM
Material rendered friable by heat, water or impact. Usually a controlled demolition, see Fire-Damaged Asbestos Demolition.Fences, sheds & outbuildings
Super-six fencing, garages and garden structures, the small scopes that still carry the same legal duties.Commercial strip-outs
Staged removals across occupied facilities, sequenced with building management and out-of-hours windows. How a Removal Runs
Six stages from inspection to clearance certificate. The notification period is fixed by legislation; everything else moves at the pace of the site.
Book an assessmentInspect & scope
A licensed assessor confirms what the material is, its condition and its extent, sampling through a NATA-accredited laboratory where identification is uncertain.Plan & notify
A site-specific Asbestos Removal Control Plan and SWMS are prepared, and notifiable work is lodged with WHSQ at least five days before commencement.Contain & control
Exclusion zones, signage, containment and decontamination units are established and checked before any material is disturbed.Remove & decontaminate
Material comes out under wet methods and controlled handling, with personnel decontamination on every exit from the zone.Clear & validate
An independent licensed assessor inspects, air-monitors where required and issues the clearance certificate before the area is released.Dispose & document
Waste travels tracked to a licensed facility. Dockets, monitoring results and the clearance certificate are handed over as one pack.Licensed for the Strictest Class of Work
These are the rules the job is measured against afterwards. They are the floor, not the ceiling.
Asbestos Removal FAQs
The three questions asked on almost every first call.
Do you handle both friable and bonded asbestos?
Yes. A Class A licence covers every category of asbestos removal work in Queensland, friable, bonded, any quantity. There is no scope we have to turn away or subcontract on licence grounds.
How much notice does a removal need?
Friable removal and bonded removal over 10 m² must be notified to WHSQ at least five days before work starts, and we lodge that notification as part of the engagement. Genuine emergencies have a separate pathway.
Do occupants have to move out?
Depends on the containment. Many bonded removals run with occupants in place behind exclusion zones; friable work inside an occupied building is sequenced and contained so unaffected areas stay usable. The control plan settles it before work starts.
