Who we are

Briz Plant & Equipment Sales Pty Ltd (ABN 89 660 915 248) is an asbestos removal and demolition contractor based in Brisbane, Queensland, holding Class A Asbestos Removal Licence No. 2333881. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Briz Plant & Equipment Sales Pty Ltd.

This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website at www.brizplant.com.au, and through the enquiries that reach us by email and telephone as a result of it. It does not cover employee records, or the worker health monitoring and licensing records we keep for our people under our work health and safety obligations.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you use the enquiry form on our website we collect:

  • your name, email address and telephone number
  • your company or organisation, if you give one
  • the site address, suburb and postcode, if you give them
  • the service you need, your target timeframe and the details of your enquiry
  • any files you choose to attach, such as photographs, plans, asbestos registers or reports

We also collect whatever you tell us when you contact us directly by email or telephone. The website does not ask for payment card details, bank details or government identifiers. Please do not send worker medical records or other sensitive personal information through the form, and only attach documents containing other people's personal information if you are entitled to share them.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: the pages viewed, the site or search that referred a visitor, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from the IP address. We use Google Ads conversion measurement to see whether our advertising leads to enquiries. We use this information in aggregate and do not use it to identify individual visitors. Our web host also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and fault finding.

Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
  • prepare quotations and tender submissions, and arrange site inspections
  • plan, price, schedule and carry out asbestos removal, demolition and related works
  • arrange laboratory analysis and independent clearance inspections for your project
  • issue invoices, keep accounting records and manage payment
  • meet our legal obligations, including providing information to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland or other regulators where we are required to
  • follow up on a quote or enquiry you have made

We may contact you about your enquiry and, occasionally, about our services. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying to the message or emailing admin@brizplant.com.au. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to do the work or where the law requires it. Recipients may include:

  • Contractors and suppliers we engage to help deliver a project, including waste transport operators and disposal facilities. They receive only the details they need for their part of the work.
  • NATA-accredited laboratories and independent licensed asbestos assessors who analyse samples or carry out clearance inspections. They usually need the site address and a site contact.
  • Other members of your project team, such as principal contractors, builders, project managers and property owners, where information has to pass between the parties to a project.
  • Regulators, including Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, where we are required or authorised by law to provide information.
  • Our service providers: Railway (website hosting and form processing), Resend (delivery of form submissions by email), Microsoft 365 (email), Xero (invoicing and accounts) and Google (analytics and advertising measurement).
  • Our insurers, accountants and legal advisers, where relevant to a claim, an audit or a dispute.

Information sent overseas

Google, Railway and Resend are based in the United States, and information handled by them may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where they operate. Our website and form processing run on Railway's servers in Singapore. Microsoft and Xero may store information in Australia or overseas.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Google Ads set cookies to recognise return visits and measure how the site and our ads perform. We do not use cookies to collect your name, email address or telephone number. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings. Blocking cookies does not stop you using the website or sending us an enquiry.

How we store and protect it

Enquiries are delivered to our business email and held in our email, file storage and accounting systems. Access is limited to the people in our business who need it, and those systems are protected by passwords and the security controls their providers offer. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and take steps to contain it.

We keep enquiry and project records for as long as we need them for the purposes in this policy and for as long as the law requires, which for some work health and safety and tax records is a period of years. When we no longer need personal information and are not required to keep it, we destroy it or remove the details that identify you.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date or incomplete. Email admin@brizplant.com.au or call 0456 812 332. We may need to confirm who you are first. We will respond within 30 days and do not charge for a request. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why in writing.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us by emailing admin@brizplant.com.au with the subject line "Privacy complaint", or by calling 0456 812 332. We will look into it and give you a written response within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The version on this page is always the current one, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
